Zero-Knowledge Box - Host-Proof online storage

What is it?

zkBox is a scalable, secure and fault-tolerant storage solution for highly-sensitive data.
The data is encrypted on the user's machine (e.g. the web browser) and then sent securely to the zkBox servers.

Who is it for?

If you are a developer looking for a reliable storage solution for your confidential data, zkBox might be right choice for you. If not, maybe you'll like some of the products built on top of zkBox.

How does it work?

zkBox comes as a hosted web service running in the Amazon Cloud as EC2 instances having Amazon SimpleDB and Amazon S3 as storage backend. For total security, own installation within the perimeter of your company is also possible.

zkBox is designed having security and confidentiality as top priority. All user's data is encrypted and decrypted locally by the client libraries provided (at the moment for JavaScript+ASP.NET, C# and Java); the data travels and it's stored in the encrypted form in zkBox. Moreover, all the encryption is done using the user's key which is never sent out. Because of this, not even Amazon or zkBox staff will be able to peek at your data; the user is the only one who can access it.
