Privacy policy

zkBox and its web sites are property of Bitground Software SRL.

This privacy policy was created by Bitground to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting your personal information and informing you about how we handle it. This privacy policy only applies to transactions and activities in which you engage, and in data gathered, on the web site and sub-domains. Each time you visit one of the aforementioned web sites or provide us with information, by doing so you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy at that time.

Information Gathering

When you use the zkBox web sites, our servers may collect information indirectly and automatically (through, for example, the use of your "IP address") about your activities while visiting the web sites, including the web pages you view and the times you view them and information about the browser you are using. We do not link browsing information to the personal information you submit to us. We use this browsing information for systems administration purposes and for internal purposes such as to help us to understand how the web sites are being used and to improve them. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. In some cases your IP address stays the same from browser session to browser session; but if you use a consumer Internet access provider, your IP address probably varies from session to session.

The security of your personal information depends on your protection of your account password. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized people. zkBox uses industry standard technology designed to help keep your personal information safe.

We do not keep or handle any type of sensitive financial information, as all our transactions are at this time processed by the payment processor.

We provide members with access to unique identifier information that we maintain about them, including transaction information (e.g., subscription dates or payments). We may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Terms of Use.

We use cookies to record session information, such as login information or interface customization.
Cookies are a standard Internet technology and many major web sites use them to provide useful features for their members. They provide us with data that we can use to improve the quality of our service and make it easier to use. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of our web sites if you do so.

We also use Google conversion tracking mechanism to measure the conversion rate for our Google AdWords campaigns. This allows us to view how many users sign up into zkBox after clicking on Google text ads.
The mechanism is based on a Google cookie set when a user clicks on an ad delivered by Google. The cookie expires in 30 days and is not personally-identifiable. You may find out more details about Google conversion tracking here: If you want to disable conversion tracking cookies, you can set your browser to block cookies from the domain.

Data Storage

Bitground uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run zkBox. Although Bitground owns the code, databases and all rights to the zkBox application, you retain all rights to your data.

We reserve the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of zkBox, such as acquisition by or merger with another company. If an acquiring company should plan to materially change this privacy policy, we will notify you beforehand.

Please review this Privacy Policy periodically as we may modify it from time to time. This Privacy Policy was last revised on January 15th, 2010.
